Otuwhero Estates is a private company producing only highest-quality Sauvignon Blanc exclusively from its own extensive vineyards. Marketed under the O:TU brand, it has a strong New World focus and is proud of its decidedly fresh and Kiwi heritage.

So take a look at what's behind our label...

Perched at the top of the Awatere Valley is the statuesque sacred Maori mountain Mt Tapuae-O-Uenuku. Usually topped with snow from autumn to spring, 'Tapi' is our supply of crisp mountain air.

To the east, only 1.5km from the vines, is the untouched, clean, and barren coastline of Clifford Bay, rolling around south of Marlborough's Cloudy Bay from the Vernon Bluffs to Cape Campbell.

Fresh, oxygenated ocean air washes over the vines, where it meets the cool breezes blowing from Tapi in the West. This unique air flow produces an inimitable coastal climate where it's hot but not for prolonged periods. Compared to elsewhere in Marlborough, the summer growing season is cooler and longer, starting about 10 days later and finishing around three weeks later.

Meanwhile, deep beneath the vines, pure naturally filtered water collects in subterranean aquifers and is pumped around the vineyard supplying each vine with its own supply of fresh, clean, mineral-rich hydration.

Simply, at Otuwhero Estate, if you were a Sauvignon Blanc grape, you'd be in heaven!
